NIA-funded research suggests that adolescent cognitive ability is associated with later-life dementia and cognitive impairment risk. In this study, researchers analyzed data from the Project Talent Aging Study, a national longitudinal study of 377,015 students in high school launched in 1960. These findings underscore the influence of early life factors on long-term cognitive health.
