How to Get Free Wheels in Monopoly Go

Once all color-matched properties have hotels, you get a free spin

What to Know

  • Play the game as usual by rolling dice and earning money. Then, spend that money to build and upgrade landmarks.
  • Earn one house every time a landmark is built or upgraded. Every fifth house on a property becomes a hotel.
  • Once all properties of a matching color have hotels, land on one of them to spin the Color Wheel.

This article explains how to earn free Color Wheel spins in Monopoly Go.

How to Earn Free Spins

You have no direct control over earning spins on the Color Wheel, but once you know what to look for, you can plan for it based on likelihood.

  1. Play the game as usual by rolling dice, moving around the board, and earning money.

  2. Upgrade your landmarks by tapping the Build tab in the bottom-left corner of the main screen, then tapping one of the landmarks along the bottom. The required amount of money will be displayed below the landmark’s image.

  3. Every time you build or upgrade a landmark, you’ll earn one house, with all earned houses placed on the board (at the game’s discretion) once you exit the main screen.

  4. When a property has four houses on it and a fifth house would be added, it becomes a hotel. Once all properties of a matching color have a hotel on them, the spaces will begin to glow.

  5. Land on a glowing property to spin the Color Wheel.

  6. After the wheel is spun, all the hotels on those matching properties will be removed. However, you can get them back by continuing to build and upgrade landmarks, which will allow you to place more houses (and eventually hotels).

You’ll get two spins every time you activate the Color Wheel when the Wheel Boost event is active.

What Is the Color Wheel?

The Color Wheel gives you a chance to earn extra dice rolls (necessary for moving around the board and earning money), money, or sticker packs. How much you’ll get, or how rare your sticker rewards are, depends on where the wheel stops.

There’s no option to buy Color Wheel spins, though you can purchase dice rolls or money to play longer without wait timers. This can speed up the process of earning spins, but it is unnecessary. Paying to earn more spins is also not recommended because the prizes earned from spins can be purchased separately and in greater quantities.

The Color Wheel prize values (and their placement on the wheel) for dice rolls and sticker packs are the same every time. However, the two available money reward values will sometimes vary.
