New AI-Powered Visual Smart Glasses That Aren't RayBan or Meta

Solos AirGo Vision include cameras and ChatGPT 4o integration.

Access to ChatGPT 4o and having cameras on your smart glasses could lead to some pretty cool AI experiences.

Smart glasses company Solos revealed a new model Friday it calls the "first and only smart glasses integrated with ChatGPT 4o for visual processing. If nothing else, it's the first set of specs that have cameras on them that aren't from Meta and RayBan.

The frames are interchangeable, as well, letting swap in a non-camera pair if you'd rather not have the visual feature.

“Our in-house software team has built the AirGo Vision to harness the power of the best AI models available today,” said Kenneth Fan, co-founder of Solos, in a statement sent to Lifewire. “We also recently integrated live search to enhance the existing AI capabilities and believe we’re offering consumers a truly comprehensive wearable AI platform unlike anything else on the market.”

The new AirGo Vision promises real-time info based on visual input, like recognizing people and objects in your field of vision or getting directions to landmarks. They can even capture photos on the fly without having to use your hands. The company says that you can even use it for shopping, asking "What am I looking at and how much does it cost? Is there a better price somewhere else?"

The company promises long battery life, claiming all-day use on one charge.

There are also new LED features on the frames, letting you see incoming notifications without having to look at your phone. There's a discreet flash, says Solos, that can be great for noisy environments or even quiet ones you don't want to disturb. It could also be a great accessibility feature for those with hearing loss, too.

The new AirGo Vision will integrate with Solo's current app, letting you chat with your chosen AI chatbot (including Google Gemini and Anthropic Claude) via the glasses on your phone. Otherwise, they work like a pair of earbuds connected to your smart device.

The new smart glasses will be available for purchase "later this year," while LED-only frames (that work with current Solos glasses) can be purchased for $250 later in July.
