How to Get More Shields in Monopoly Go

There are three main ways to get shields in Monopoly Go:

  • Participating in events
  • Competing in tournaments
  • Racking up Quick Wins

Shields are an important mechanic in Monopoly Go. Although their functionality always remains the same, you can change their look.

When we talk about 'getting shields' in Monopoly Go, we're referring to shield skins. In the game, actually getting a shield requires you to land on a tile with a shield.

Get Shields From Monopoly Go Events

Various events are always running in Monopoly Go, and participating in certain events may earn you a shield skin. For example, at the time of writing, one of the latest events is Sunset Treasures.

Sunset Treasures is a minigame in Monopoly Go where players dig up treasures using pickaxes. As players dig up more treasures, players level up. If a player manages to hit level 12, they'll be rewarded with the Saharan Sapphire Shield.

Keep track of what events are running in Monopoly Go, participate in them, and you'll soon be able to obtain some shields.

Enter Tournaments to Get More Shields

Tournaments are special events within Monopoly Go, where players can compete against each other to earn various rewards, including shield skins. However, only some tournaments feature shield skins as rewards, so you'll have to check in on whatever tournament is running.

For example, the Green Thumb Contest tournament is live at the time of writing. However, there isn't an accompanying shield reward for competing in the Green Thumb Contest, unlike in past tournaments such as the Oktoberfest Contest.

Get Shields From Completing Quick Wins

Shield skins are occasionally rewards for completing Quick Wins.

Quick Wins in Monopoly Go are daily tasks players can complete to earn different rewards. The seven daily challenges are reset daily, as expected, and the weekly challenge is reset on Mondays. To access your Quick Wins, tap "Wins" at the bottom left of your screen when in the game.

Quick Wins rewards vary, so you will only sometimes get shields.

Tips and Tricks to Get Shields

As discussed above, getting shields relies heavily on participating in various events or getting lucky with Quick Wins rewards. The best strategy here is to keep playing the game and pay attention to your Quick Wins and what events are currently running.
