'Everyone lines up to visit Delhi government schools'
NEW DELHI: Delhi minister and AAP leader Gopal Rai on Friday said that when the Central government invites the American President to visit India, his wife specifically requests to see Delhi government schools.

"When the Centre invites the American President to visit India then his wife demands that she wants to see Delhi government schools. Why? No one has ever before wished the same.
It is because Delhi government has set an example in front of the world.”
Rai further criticized the BJP on for transferring 5,000 teachers from Delhi government schools, claiming it undermines the education system built by the Kejriwal government.
He said the BJP's long-standing "Kam Roko Abhiyan" aimed to obstruct the AAP government's efforts has now reached an extreme stage.
He said the impact of these transfers on Delhi's education system, which he said is renowned nationally and globally.
He accused the BJP of intentionally attempting to dismantle the progress achieved by the Kejriwal administration.
"The BJP under its 'Kam Roko Abhiyan' has decided to destroy the education system developed by the Kejriwal government in Delhi," Rai stated.

He pointed out that the Education department had issued an order mandating these transfers.
"Its biggest example is the mass transfer of teachers of Delhi government schools overnight. The Education department officers have issued an order that the teachers posted in a school for over 10 years should be transferred," he said.
He also underlined the crucial role of government school teachers in the transformation of Delhi's education system under the AAP government.
"The teachers of government schools are the backbone of Delhi's education system that saw a turnaround after the AAP came to power," he added.

According to Clause 16, it directed all teachers who have served more than 10 years in the same school to compulsorily apply for transfers, failing which they would be transferred to any school by the DoE.
