School vehicles issued 71 challans

Chandigarh: UT traffic police, in a joint operation with State Transport Authority, Chandigarh, on Thursday conducted a special drive to check school buses and other vehicles, including auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws, transporting schoolchildren to schools within the city. A total of 71 traffic challans were issued to the violators. Of these, 18 auto rickshaw and seven e- rickshaws drivers were challaned for ferrying children beyond the permissible carrying capacity.

Chandigarh: UT administration on Thursday repatriated a Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer, Sanyam Garg, who was on deputation to the UT from Haryana.Consequent upon relieving of Garg, the administration reshuffled his departments. Pradhuman Singh, HCS, has been assigned the charges of additional director (Admn) GMCH and additional charge of director, tourism relieving Naveen, DANICS. Nitish Singla, PCS, has been assigned the additional charge of joint registrar cooperative societies. Paviter Singh has been given the additional charge of joint secretary, food and supplies and consumer affairs and legal metrology, and administrator, Market Committee.
Manimajra gets streetlights
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh MC has installed streetlights in Manimajra area, following the demand of area municipal councillor Sarabjit Kaur. As per the information, many places in Manimajra did not either have streetlights or they were not functional, due to which the residents of the area were facing problems. Therefore, they raised the issue before Sarabjit Kaur, following which she talked to the officers concerned. The area councillor said developmental works would continue in the ward and issues of residents would be resolved on priority.
E-auction of new series from July 13
Chandigarh: The Registration and Licensing Authority (RLA) will hold the e-auction of the new series “CH01CV” and re-auction of left over fancy/special registration numbers of the previous series from July 13 to July 15. The registration will start from will start from July 6 (10am) and continue till July 12 (05pm). The previous serious up for auction include CH01CU, CH01CT, CH01CS, CH01CR, CH01CQ, CH01CP, CH01CN, CH01CM, CH01CL, CH-01CK, CH01CJ, CH01CG, CH01CF, CH01CE, CH01CD, CH01CC, CH01CB, CH01CA, CH01BZ, CH01BY, CH01BW, CH01BX, CH01BV, among others.
PU releases MDS admission schedule
Chandigarh: Panjab University has released the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) prospectus, along with instructions for filling out the online application form, on its website https://mdsadmission.puchd.ac.in. The online registration began on July 2, and the last date for submission of information to generate the login and password is July 11. The last date for depositing the fee through online mode is July 12, and the deadline for uploading the photograph, signature, and other required information is July 13. The provisional merit list of eligible candidates will be displayed on July 16.
