Advisory forproblems inheavy rain
Chandigarh: To ensure the safety and well-being of citizens during the rainy season, the Chandigarh municipal corporation has issued a comprehensive advisory under the ‘Safai Apnao Bimaari Bhagao’ campaign. This advisory provides essential guidelines to follow during heavy rainfall and flood-like situations.
MC commissioner Anindita Mitra said the safety of citizens was of utmost importance, especially during the monsoon.

The advisory includes avoiding waterlogged areas and underpasses to prevent the risk of electric shocks and other hazards. People should remain indoors during heavy rainfall to minimise the chances of accidents caused by slippery roads, falling trees, and other hazards.
Residents should drive cautiously, avoiding flooded roads and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.
People have also been advised to remain informed about weather forecasts and warnings, and follow the advice of local authorities and emergency services.
Residents can report any issues, such as fallen trees, water-logging, or damage to public infrastructure, to helpline number 112 for prompt action.
