42% rise in stamp sale, registration revenue: Min
Chandigarh: Punjab govt recorded a 42% rise in income under the head ‘stamp and registration’ in June this year over the same month last year, said state revenue minister Bram Shanker Jimpa on Saturday.
He cited the rise in income to corruption-free governance provided by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann led AAP govt. Jimpa said in June 2024, the state ex-chequer had an income of Rs 452.96 crore under stamp and registration.
The figure was Rs 319.33 crore in June 2023.
The minister said in May 2024, the state ex-chequer had an income of Rs 526.36 crore, whereas this income was Rs 430.63 crore in May last year, which is 22% more than last year.
The minister said as soon as the AAP govt was formed, efforts were initiated to eradicate corruption. TNN
