MC house meet to be held on July 9

MC house meet to be held on July 9
Chandigarh: The monthly general house meeting of the Chandigarh municipal corporation will be held on Tuesday, while the monthly finance and contract committee (F&CC) meeting will be convened on Monday. With the mayor issuing notice for both meetings, all the departments have been asked to compile their agendas and send the same to the secretary for discussion and subsequent approvals.

Though the departments have started preparing the agenda items, sources said a majority of the agenda items might be of the engineering wing.
“Since the agenda branch of the MC carries out this entire exercise of asking and receiving agenda items from different departments or wings, all the agenda items are being first studied and finally approved by the mayor only in consultation with the MC commissioner,” sources said. As sub-committees of the MC have not been constituted so far, all the agenda items related to these sub-committees will be taken up in the F&CC meeting for a detailed discussion and approval.
Newly elected MP Manish Tewari is also expected to attend the monthly general house meeting, scheduled for Tuesday. tnn
