Fire breaks out in Ind’l Area, Ph 2
Chandigarh: A fire broke out in a plot of Indistrial Area Phase 2 on Sunday. No casualties were reported but the wooden material kept inside the plot was gutted. The fire broke out at around 4.30pm and fire tenders from Ram Darbar and Sector 31 fire station reached soon after. They took around two hours to douse the flames. The quantum of loss could not be assessed till the filing of this report.
Besides firemen, police from Sector 31 police station also helped douse the flames. The cause of the fire is unclear but sources said that it may have been caused by a short-circuit. The fire department will prepare a report. tnn
