Chandigarh: Chandigarh BJP has written a letter to union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging him to not discontinue the two special trains from Chandigarh to Varanasi.
The party said it is the demand of the people which seems justified.
In the letter, Chandigarh BJP leader Sanjay Tandon highlighted the significant benefits of the special trains, (04211 and 04212), particularly for the residents of eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The railway department is planning to discontinue the services on July 14.
In his letter, Tandon said if the services are discontinued, residents will have to rely on Sadbhavna train from Chandigarh to Lucknow, which goes via Rae Bareli, Amethi, and Pratapgarh. tnn
