Today we're celebrating a big birthday! 🎂 🎈 Our Rheidol hydropwer plant in Wales is 60 years old! 💧 💙 To mark this anniversary, we wanted to speak to some of the people who made Rheidol, and got to meet a group of former employees, who told us some stories from their time at the power plant. 👉 “It is fitting that we mark this significant anniversary alongside some of the people who made the building of Rheidol possible, and I’m pleased that we have been able to celebrate their contributions," says Dennis Geyermann, our VP of Operations and Maintenance. This week we had the pleasure of welcoming energy attachés from all EU member states to Alta as part of their trip to Norway! 🌞 We took them to the Alta power plant where we explained and showcased hydropower’s contributions to the transition and its remaining potential in Norway and Europe. 💧Hydropower, with its flexibility, enables the introduction of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar, making it a key contributor to the European energy transition towards a fully renewable energy system. ♻️ We were lucky with the weather, and the sporty group even hiked a mountain to admire the midnight sun.🏔️🌅 #RenewableEnergy #Hydropower #EuropeanEnergyTransition #Norway 🇪🇺🌎

We had a great time at last week's RenewableUK's Global Offshore Wind Conference in Manchester! 💙 We were joined by the movers and shakers of the industry where there was a sense of cautious optimism and a celebration of an industry 'Coming of Age'.
