Today we're celebrating a big birthday! 🎂 🎈 Our Rheidol hydropwer plant in Wales is 60 years old! 💧 💙 To mark this anniversary, we wanted to speak to some of the people who made Rheidol, and got to meet a group of former employees, who told us some stories from their time at the power plant. 👉 “It is fitting that we mark this significant anniversary alongside some of the people who made the building of Rheidol possible, and I’m pleased that we have been able to celebrate their contributions," says Dennis Geyermann, our VP of Operations and Maintenance. I was born and raised amidst the construction of hydroelectric power plants, and I am the third generation in my family to be involved in the realm of green energy. I was born during the construction of the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant and later managed the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant. Just as I received the Itaipu Hydroelectric Power Plant as a gift, I am now passing on the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Power Plant to the nexte generation! **** Realmente e muito bom ser e fazer parte de projetos grandiosos! Eu nasci e cresci em meio a construcoes de hidreletricas e sou a terceira geracao em minha familia a fazer parte desse mundo de energias verdes! Nasci durante a construção da Hidrelétrica de Itaipu e gerenciei a contrucao da hidrelétrica de Belo Monte! Assim como recebi De presente a UHE de Itaipu deixo a UHE de Belo Monte para as próximas geracoes!
