Developing local #renewable energy projects can reduce the carbon footprint and contribute to the sustainability of Ukrainian communities. Promoting the use of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydropower at the local level will allow for the decentralization of renewable energy production. This makes it more affordable and beneficial for communities to generate electricity from clean and sustainable sources. Greece Leads Europe in Renewable Energy: A Wind Power Milestone On a landmark day, Greece set a new standard for renewable energy in Europe. Data from the Hellenic Scientific Wind Energy Association shows an impressive 59.1 GWh of wind energy was generated, accounting for 54% of the country's energy mix. 🌍🔌 It is difficult to ignore the clear connection between using fossil fuels and conflict. Yet, there's not enough talk about how renewable energy can help prevent such challenges. Studies show that using more renewable energy is linked to less conflict. However, peace won't come just from installing renewables without considering the situation. Wind energy in #estonia 🇪🇪 is growing! It was great to hear such positive messages at the Estonian Wind Power Association conference today, with developers of onshore and offshore wind projects sharing their thoughts on where the sector is heading. Wind energy is needed in Estonia to meet the target of 100% renewable energy production compared to consumption by 2030. The Kliimaministeerium / Ministry of Climate of Estonia have also confirmed ambitions for reaching 120% renewable production by 2030, based on current estimates, to account for growth in energy consumption.
