Star Trek: Starship Creator was released by Simon and Schuster Interactive in 1998, and provided fans with the opportunity to build and test their own starships, provide the crew from the Star Trek universe, and then send the ship out on test missions. There was a sequel, Starship Creator Warp II.

Missions[]

Retrieve Artifacts from Planet Kurl[]

A recent excavation conducted by a UFP archaeological team on Planet Kurl has uncovered an abundance of artifacts, including the Kurlan Naiskos. However, the Kurlan authorities have reported breaches of the Federation's codified archaeological ethics and standards of performance, resulting in the artifacts going missing. If the player discovers unethical conduct, disciplinary measures should be taken. Additionally, the political situation on Kurl is destabilizing. The player's mission is to locate the missing artifacts, investigate and rectify any wrongdoing by Federation personnel, and respond to the Kurlan authorities' request to bring the critical specimens back to the Federation for temporary safekeeping.

Intercept and Capture Raiders[]

Near the neutral planet of Tohvun III at the Cardassian/Federation border, recent surprise attacks on cargo ships have occurred. To successfully complete this mission, the player must capture the terrorists and return them to Deep Space 9 for interrogations.

Repair Tectonic Monitors on Drema IV[]

The player must repair class 1 probes that serve as resonator devices on the subsurface of Planet Drema IV to prevent tectonic instabilities caused by dilithium ore deposits that threaten the planet. The mission will be successful if the player repairs the probes without coming into contact with the inhabitants of the planet who are under Prime Directive protection.

Diplomatic Escort[]

The player must pick up two separate diplomats from Sirius IV and Alaira III and transport them to a peace conference. The player should encourage the diplomats to join the Federation. Expect enemy forces in the area through which the player passes.

Deep Space Subspace Analysis[]

A previously unexplored region of space is exhibiting strange distortions in its local sub-space. The player must analyze the region and determine the cause of the distortions before returning to base.

Deflect Stellar Fragment[]

A deviant plasma fragment ejected from the red giant star Meltasia 473 is heading for the planet Gamelan V. The player's mission is to reach the planet, locate the stellar fragment, and deflect or destroy it before it engulfs the planet and annihilates the entire population. This mission may require passing through a sector of space near the Gamelan system where several vessels have recently lost contact with the starbase, so the player must be on the lookout for anomalies.

Medical Emergency on Hoptus Major[]

There is an outbreak of the Hemelovan Torex virus on Hoptus Major, where the residents have run out of the vaccine and lack sufficient equipment and medical supplies to produce more before the outbreak becomes uncontrollable. The player's goals are to convey all available supplies of the vaccine and related medical supplies to Hoptus Major, and to lend a portion of their medical staff to help the personnel on Hoptus deploy the vaccine. To reach Hoptus Major in time, the Yzer Nebula must be traversed, despite its potentially damaging ion storms, as circumnavigating it incurs too great a time penalty. The mission will be complete when the vaccine and supplies are successfully delivered to Hoptus Major.

Prevent Collapse of Decton Ecosystem[]

The ecosystem of Decton Prime is on the brink of collapse, with all major species of flora and fauna experiencing drastic population declines within the last month. If this trend continues, these important species will be extinct within a month. Estimates suggest that if the cause is not identified and addressed within approximately a week, there will not be enough time to reverse the process. Although the inhabitants of Decton have gathered much information, they have been unable to determine the cause. The player's mission is to find and address the cause before the damage to the Decton biosphere becomes permanent.

Take Position in Sector 8[]

The player should fly to Sector 8 and request further instructions.

Test Launch a Probe and Collect Data[]

The player should undock and proceed to coordinates 205x185, where they will launch a probe into a nebular region undergoing an unusual transformation. As this is a peaceful area, heavy armament is deemed unnecessary. The mission's sole objective is to analyze the designated region of space.

Visit Deneba VI[]

The player must visit Deneba IV, scan for signs of civilization, and return to Starbase.

Rescue Crew of USS Wellington from the Romulan Neutral Zone[]

Distress calls have been received from the USS Wellington, which is on patrol near the Romulan border. Due to the delicate nature of the relationship with the Romulans, who will attack with little provocation, extreme caution is advised. The assignment requires the player to send one of their ships to locate the vessel, aid the crew, and tow it back to Starbase without allowing the captain to initiate hostilities with the Romulans. The mission will be successful if the player can return the Wellington and its crew to base without starting an incident.

Facilitate Terraforming on Gratemos VII[]

The newly-established terraforming station on Gratemos VII requires assistance in transforming this inorganic planet into a fertile, inhabitable Class M planet. Although the Federation controls Gratemos VII, its location near the Teplan system, currently under Dominion control, makes it a highly coveted part of space. The player's objectives are to accelerate the melting of the polar ice caps to form oceans, transport a large supply of algae to seed the water and facilitate heat absorption and biological processes, and use all necessary means to prevent harm to any detected life-forms. The Federation enforces strict regulations to protect indigenous life-forms potentially threatened by such projects. The mission will be complete when the polar ice caps have begun to melt and the algae have been deposited.

Ride to the Frontiers[]

The player should warp to coordinate 010x050 and then select other perimeter destinations.

Shakedown Cruise[]

The player flies across the quadrant, running through all systems.

Defend Area Against Invader[]

An outpost in the Phillipa system has reported detecting an unknown vessel passing through coordinates 425x100. Due to insufficient tactical resources at the outpost, a request has been made for a ship to be dispatched immediately to investigate. The player is specifically instructed to prevent any hostile incursion by these aliens and to gather any possible information about this species.

Dismantle Mine Field Near Cardassian Territory[]

In Federation territory near Bajor, mines of apparent Cardassian origin have been discovered. There is a possibility that Cardassian forces have covertly redirected these mines to test Starfleet surveillance of the area, posing a direct threat to Federation shipping channels. The player must catalog and destroy all these mines. The mission goals are to detect the location of the mines, confirm their origin, and destroy them. Additionally, if any Cardassian vessels attempt to interfere, the player must use any necessary force to persuade them to leave.
