Questions tagged [pulse]

A pulse in signal processing is a rapid, transient change in the amplitude of a signal from a baseline value to a higher or lower value, followed by a rapid return to the baseline value. There are many examples of a pulse function including: Step/rectangular pulse, impulse/dirac pulse, triangular pulse, sawtooth pulse, sinc pulse, Gaussian pulse, etc.

How to generate a single pulse for certain milliseconds or second without microcontroller?

I'm using an IR sensor as an input and I want that when IR sensor (A) goes high, then a single 300-ms pulse is generated at (B), such that even if (A) stays high, it doesn't generate any other signal ...

How can I boost the output current of this pulse generator (LF353, supplied with ±15 V) to above 25 mA?

I have a pulse generator design. Everything works fine, but it is required that the output current is above 25 mA. (The 9.69 kΩ is just a variable resistance to modify the output frequency.) ...

Why is my op-amp pulse generator (LF353) delivering way less voltage (±2 V) than the voltage supplies of the amplifier (±15 V)?

I had to design the following circuit as a pulse generator so that if I vary the resistance the frequency will vary as well. It's defined by the frequency expression: $$f=\frac{1}{2R_4C_1\ln(3)}$$ ...

Why does a MOSFET or IGBT's surge current rating stop increasing with decreasing pulse width beyond a point, unlike thyristors?

Thyristor The surge current rating of a thyristor increases as the width of the pulse decreases. For a single non-repetitive pulse, it's not uncommon for a thyristor to have a surge rating that is 10x ...
