Using GNOME 3, how can I disable automounting removable media and if possible, do so using the drive ID?

I think this might work, but haven't tested it:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount false
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.media-handling automount-open false

  • Can anyone answer the follow-up question? Automounting is quite helpful for trusted devices but dangerous for others. So, a pass list of filesystem or partition uuids which can be automounted is a very natural thing to ask.
