Re: Fiber going live: more progress made on the Boardman systemFishel just buried where they were working on the corner of lockwood and Shields. They have the conduit wrapped to one of the telephone poles. |

Just learned about a company called Omni Fiber wiring up parts of Austintown. They're already in parts of Niles. This will give further competition to StrongArm. Pricing is of course better. 2 gigs for $105, less than armstrongs rack rate for 1gbps, $85 for 1gbps. No contracts or intro pricing. Time to get real with the prices, $109 rack rate for 1gbps is steep. |

Spectrum is raising their 940 down/35 up tier to $122 (with autopay) next month. $127 without autopay. |

Agreed. My in-laws just got wired for StrongArm fiber in Cornersburg yesterday. I called Armstrong's fiber department and they told me they haven't even done work near my house yet and have no date. So all the work that's being done by me is AT&T. |

Armstrong seems to be working from outward in, Boardman being last. |

We are on the older RF over Glass system. Granted its stable, the upload is rough. Hoping for a conversion to full fiber soon as part of the other upgrades Armstrong is doing around Ohio. So disheartening having fiber up to the side of the house and yet cable speeds... |

I haven't seen much work going on lately in my area. I'm not sure how long it takes from when they dig the conduit to when they actually hang the fiber. My street is all aerial and then goes underground at the intersections. |
