I have over 24 years of experience in Education.  I began my teaching career in 1993 with 7th grade English and have taught all levels of English and Language Arts from 7th - 12th grade. 

I have been an educator at Childersburg High School for over 13 years.  I taught 11th & 9th grade English from 2007 - 2014 and became the Guidance Counselor in 2014.  Being the Guidance Counselor has by far been the most challenging and rewarding part of my career.  I miss being in the classroom because I no longer get to form long-term, deep bonds with students, but I now get to connect with and impact more students on a broader basis.  I'm so thankful for all the opportunities I've been given here at Childersburg High School.  

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1991 from Jacksonville State University, with certification in the fields of English and psychology.  I then went back to school after 21 years in 2013 and received my Masters in Education in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama.  

On a personal note,  I have been married for over 33 years and have 3 wonderful kids--2 girls and a boy.  We also have 3 grandchildren whom we get to spoil on a regular basis. 

My career goals over the next several years are to continue to grow as a Guidance Counselor and help our students become successful in their lives after high school.
