EGLE's interactive calendar is designed to provide timely information on decisions before the Director, proposed settlements of contested cases, administrative rules promulgation, public hearings, meetings and comment deadlines, and environmental conferences, workshops and training programs.
The Michigan Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides all persons (except persons incarcerated in correctional facilities) with access to public records of public bodies. Requests to inspect or receive public records from EGLE must be in writing and describe the requested records with enough detail to enable the department to identify and locate the requested records. Some records are exempt from disclosure under the FOIA or another statute and thus will not be provided. A fee may be charged to process your request. Please note that many records are available that do not require a formal FOIA request.

The State of Michigan has been awarded $156 million for the MI Solar for All program by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The MI Solar for All program will support solar development for thousands of households in low-income and disadvantaged communities across Michigan through direct financial assistance for rooftop solar, community solar, and energy storage.

MI Solar for All Interest Form
On June 28, 2023, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) released a $7 billion Solar for All Notice of Funding Opportunity. Through a competitive process, the EPA has awarded Solar for All grants to states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and nonprofits to expand the number of low-income and disadvantaged communities primed for residential solar investment—enabling millions of low-income households to access affordable, resilient, and clean solar energy.

The $7 billion Solar for All competition awarded 60 grants to states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and eligible nonprofit recipients across the United States to expand the number of low-income and disadvantaged communities primed for distributed solar investment—enabling millions of low-income households to access affordable, resilient, and clean solar energy.
This program will help deliver on the climate and Environmental Justice goals of the United States. To achieve these goals, Solar for All grantees will provide subsidies and other financial assistance to residential rooftop and residential-serving community solar projects in and benefiting low-income and disadvantaged communities in addition to project deployment technical assistance such as workforce development, community outreach, and other project-deployment support (e.g., interconnection technical assistance, siting and permitting support) to help overcome barriers to solar deployment.
Under EPA guidelines, all Solar for All programs must facilitate the deployment or advantages of solar energy for low-income and disadvantaged communities, offering one or more significant benefits as outlined below.

Delivers a minimum 20% of household savings to program beneficiaries
Increases low-income and disadvantaged households’ access to solar through financing products and deployment options.
Increases resiliency and grid benefits by creating capacity that can deliver power to low-income and disadvantaged households and/or critical facilities serving low-income and disadvantaged households during a grid outage.
Facilitates ownership models that support low-income households and communities building equity in projects
Invests in quality jobs and businesses in line with the Administration's Good Jobs Principles and Executive Order 14082 (Implementation of the Energy and Infrastructure Provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022).
The State of Michigan submitted its application on October 12, 2023. EPA awards were made April 22, 2024, with fund distribution to the state by late-September 2024.
The EPA requires that the Solar for All program operates within a five-year performance period, during which all allocated funds must be utilized.
The State anticipates taking full advantage of the one-year planning period permitted by the EPA within this timeframe.
The MISFA team is engaged in ongoing community engagement and program design activities. We anticipate providing ongoing opportunities for engagement and feedback on various elements of the program design, including requests for comments and public meetings.
