🌾 We rely on essential commodities including food crops such as wheat, maize, and rice; critical minerals like lithium, cobalt, and zinc; and vital metals like iron, copper, and bauxite (which is used to make aluminium). These food crops account for 42% of the calories people eat and these minerals and metals are critical to transportation, construction, manufacturing, electronics, and the green transition. By adapting to a hotter world, we can reduce the impacts of climate disruption on commodity production, helping to protect people and prosperity. 🌎 Our report ‘Climate Risks to Nine Key Commodities: Protecting People and Prosperity’ explores how much climate change-driven heat stress and drought threaten the production of the commodities we all rely on, the associated risks, and how to manage them: https://pwc.to/3xPNrRv #ClimateAdaptation #ClimateRisks #KeyCommodities
