I feel honored and proud to have the opportunity to take part in this project and work with an amazing team.

One thing about me is that I never give up. I take a step back, make modifications and adjustments in my approach and try to find other ways to reach my goal. Growing up in Iran, a country that ranks in the bottom five of the World Economic Forum Global Gender Gap Report, I learned early to fight for my goals. Growing up in that environment taught me that if I want to pursue my dreams, I have to be extra proactive, curious and courageous, because, if there is one thing you learn growing up as a girl in Iran, it is that you cannot take anything for granted in life. Thank you #ubcsauder and Meg Suderman for giving me this opportunity to share my story with other students.

This past year has been a year of dramatic changes for me. I made very hard decisions and had to let go of many things in my life because I had a new goal; a big transition in my career path. There were times that I was very scared and lost, but I was lucky to receive support through this transition process. I am grateful for all the mentorship I received and hope I will be able to give back and help other people like myself in future. I clearly remember leaving the Sauder building last year after the meeting I had with Natalie Souresrafil. The small chat with her made it possible for me to lay out the best path possible towards my goal. I am extremely excited to start this journey at UBC Sauder School of Business this fall and looking forward to connecting with the great faculty and very smart students at Sauder. #leadership #business #success #students #help #career #mentoring #coaching
