We are excited to share that Idemitsu Americas Holdings has invested in Anaconda Systems, a pioneer in the organic waste composting technology. Their innovative aerobic digestion technology enables organic wastes to be processed in less than 10 days with low cost, and in addition, their digestion happens in a closed environment, which allows the solution to be deployed in urban centers, where odor is one of the key issues for the solutions. This also greatly reduces the energy consumption and CO2 emissions for the transportation of waste since those are mainly generated in the urban area. Anaconda already runs a commercial plant in #Vancouver and developing businesses in North America. As the regulations towards landfill are getting stricter, and the transition from synthetic to organic fertilizer is in its trend, there is a huge potential for Anaconda's technology to be deployed and contribute to the realization of the circular economy. IAH have been pursuing new technologies and business models that could realize a resource circulation society and the local production and consumption of the resources, and have been discussing with Anaconda for the past couple of years. This investment is part of this effort, and we will keep working close with Russell Zishiri and his team to pursue business possibilities, with the aim of contributing to regional development and the realization of a low-carbon society. 🌊 We are excited to announce the launch of the "Blue Carbon Innovation Studio" with Hatch Blue in Singapore in Nov 2024! This first-of-its-kind innovation program is designed for early-stage projects and companies focused on blue carbon technologies 🌊 We truly believe in the potential of technologies capable of sequestering or reducing carbon through ocean and coastal ecosystems 🌿 , commonly referred to as "blue carbon." Keitaro Sugihara, President and CEO of Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corporation, said, "Idemitsu has been collaborating with Hatch Blue to deeply explore the ocean's potential in decarbonization. We recognize the tremendous opportunities that blue carbon can offer ... we have decided to support the acceleration and development of new technologies in this blue carbon sector, particularly those that can be deployed in Southeast Asia and Japan." To accelerate this initiative, we are sponsoring this program organized by Hatch Blue. We chose Singapore due to Idemitsu's strong presence there and the growing ecosystem of blue carbon startups in the region. Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corporation, along with other Idemitsu teams, will work together to make this a success. This is just the start of an exciting milestone! We look forward to welcoming startups in Singapore 👋 For more details, please refer to the link below: #bluecarbon #hatchblue #innovationstudios #singapore Info Deck: https://lnkd.in/gGjpcxDp Apply by August 30: https://lnkd.in/g3hjtfAS Press Release on The Fish Site: https://lnkd.in/gwbtU7gD

Idemitsu Americas Holdings Corporation recently had the pleasure of hosting two distinguished visitors from the The University of Tokyo 🗾 , Yuya Hirata and Koyu Mizutani. Both are PhD candidates at the University of Tokyo and paid a visit to our San Jose office as well as our partner, Azimuth Capital Management, in Mountain View office. During their time in Silicon Valley, they participated in an entrepreneurial training program organized by the Department of Engineering. Yuya's academic research centers around spintronics, while Koyu focuses on Artificial Intelligence. It was truly inspiring to spend the day with these bright graduate students, and we extend our gratitude to the members of Azimuth for their support. ICHITARO W. from Idemitsu Americas Holdings led discussions with them, exploring our initiatives and potential collaborations. Moreover, it was enriching for us to hear their fresh and promising proposals. A special thank you to Tayler Amatto and Melissa Zhang for their invaluable assistance in facilitating discussions and accommodating the students during their visit 👍 #idemitsu, #idemitsuamericas
