A new Samsung Galaxy flip phone has been introduced every year for the past four years. The upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 6 is set to be released this summer and may bring along some exciting new features.

When Will Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Be Released?

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 release date hasn't been announced by the company. Considering that the last few foldables were released in August of their respective years, this pattern may be repeated for the Galaxy Z Filp 6 this year.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Price Rumors

Similar to the release date, there haven't been any concrete rumors regarding how much the next Galaxy Z Flip will cost. We think Samsung will price the phone similarly to the Galaxy Z Flip 5:

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 (256 GB): $999.99
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 (512 GB): $1,119.99

If a new 1 TB model is introduced, it's conceivable that it could cost up to $100 more than the 512 GB variant.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Features

While Android 15 will be released later this year, it won't be available in time for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Instead, this phone will run on Android 14 and One UI 6.1. You can find more information about Android 14 here.

Additionally, we don't expect Samsung to miss an opportunity to include some of the same AI features available in the Galaxy S24 series. These would include generative photo editing, Circle to Search, Note Assist, Live Translate, and more.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Specs and Hardware

The most significant update in this phone compared to its predecessor is its display size, particularly the outer screen. The functionality of the rest of the phone will remain largely the same—it will still open and close in the typical flip phone fashion like the previous Galaxy Flip phones. However, there might be a noticeable increase in the size of the small external screen.

According to prolific leaker Ross Young, the cover display on this phone is predicted to be around 3.9 inches, slightly larger than the Flip 5's 3.4-inch screen. The added size will make it even easier to use the phone without opening it. It's important to note, though, that Young's tweet about this has since been deleted. Was his source wrong? We'll have to wait and see.

The main display is expected to resemble the current Z Flip, with a size of approximately 6.7 inches and featuring a 120Hz variable refresh rate.

The Flip 5 is equipped with two rear cameras: a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. This year's Flip 6 is expected to be upgraded, potentially featuring a 50MP camera sensor. The 10MP selfie camera will probably remain unchanged.

Another improvement we've seen rumors about is in regards to the battery. While both the Flip 5 and Flip 4 utilize a 3,700mAh battery, the Flip 6 could feature a slightly beefier 3,887mAh battery. A larger number signifies that the battery can store more charge, meaning extended battery life.

Samsung offers 1 TB of storage on some of their phones, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy S24 Ultra. We hope the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will also offer this generous storage capacity. Currently, the highest storage option for their flip phones is 512 GB. We've also heard that there could be a model with 12 GB of RAM, which is more than the 8 GB in the current phone.

This phone will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor. The Z Flip 5 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy. This upgrade should translate to things like increased battery efficiency, smoother multitasking, and faster app loading times.

The Flip 5 is available in various colors such as mint, cream, blue, and yellow. We expect to see some of these same colors for this year's model, possibly with some new additions. According to Evan Blass, in addition to peach, white, and crafted black (online-only options), the Flip 6 will be offered in blue, mint, silver shadow, and yellow.
