💫 🤩 Starting the week on cloud nine! Really pleased to share that we are Pro Manchester's Tech Trailblazer of the Year 2024! 🎉 🎉 It was a pleasure to present to the pro-manchester audience at the Tech Trailblazers Conference last week. I was a mixed bag of nerves and excitement but the practice paid off 🤓 This is CNF's first award and I'm so proud of the work Alasdair Lumsden 🍃 and I have put in to get us to this point. Bring it on! 🎯 The event was managed brilliantly by Julie Tunstall, a complete force of nature when it comes to event planning. The work you put into ensuring the day ran smoothly was amazing, and the attention to detail was second to none. Thank you too for the supportive (and necessary!) hugs throughout the day! A massive shout out to the whole Pro Manchester team, a great bunch. It was great to share the stage with two other exceptional founders : 🌟 Dougie Stringer is one of the most purpose-driven founders I have come across. As well as being a full time social worker, Dougie is succeeding at building a life changing app for those young adults transitioning from living in the care system to supporting themselves. It's astonishing to hear Dougie's lived experience and his and Tom's personal connection to The Path to Independence. 🌟 Caroline M England has such a vision and drive for her amazing business, Featherbed Tales Limited Helping improve the confidence and ability of reading amongst children is invaluable and her unique spin on it is fantastic! It was so great to hear you speak - so excited for your future! And of course, a huge thank you to Jess Grocutt for spending hours (!) with me over the past year to help me practice various presentations. You are endlessly generous and honest with feedback - it's really appreciated! 💜 The NatWest Group team here in Manchester, championed by the brilliant Heather Waters are fantastic, CNF owes you a lot! ✈️ Scaling Power-to-Liquids (PtL) with Nuclear Energy for SAF production? Moderated by Caroline Longman, our panellists Allan Simpson, Robert Alford, Tim Mays, and Michael Crawforth, discussed the role of PtL in the production of SAF and the requirements to scale SAF production using PtL, at our recent SAF Supply Chain Initiative event. PtL SAF production requires large amounts of reliable and predictable energy, which nuclear is well positioned to provide. With lifecycle carbon emission assessments of nuclear-derived SAF demonstrating it to be one of the most carbon-efficient production routes, planning for large-scale use of nuclear to create SAF in the coming decades can ensure the availability of SAF to support aviation decarbonisation. 📣 Thank you Carbon Neutral Fuels for sponsoring the session!
