The USS New Jersey (NCC-1975) was a 23rd century Federation starship, a Constitution-class cruiser[1] in Starfleet service as museum exhibit at the Fleet Museum in orbit of Athan Prime in the 2400s decade. (PIC episode: "The Bounty")

Service history and disposition[]

Namesake[]

New Jersey was a territory on Earth, one of the states of the United States of America in North America. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

The USS New Jersey carried the registry number NCC-1975. (PIC episode: "The Bounty")

In the 2270s, the Soyuz-class science vessel USS Amazon also shared this registry. (TOS novel: Living Memory)

In the 2290s, the Miranda-class starships ISS Ranger and USS Ranger were registered NCC-1975. (TOS video game: Shattered Universe)

Service and disposition[]

By the early 25th century, the New Jersey was docked at the Spacedock-type Fleet Museum space station at Athan Prime. In the year 2401, the facility and its exhibits were overseen by Commodore Geordi La Forge of Starfleet's operations division.

Soon after stardate 78186.03[3], the rogue USS Titan-A hid among the exhibits of the Fleet Museum from the Changeling-infiltrated Starfleet. The New Jersey was one of the ships Commander Seven of Nine reviewed with Jack Crusher. (PIC episode: "The Bounty")

Legacy[]

In the 2280s, Starfleet operated an Excelsior-class battle cruiser named USS New Jersey. It was modified to BCJ configuration and became the lead ship of the New Jersey-class. (ST video game: Starfleet Command)

The Excelsior-class New Jersey remained in active Starfleet service as of 2378. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)
