The USS Enkidu (NCC-90205) was a 25th century Federation starship, a Reliant-class advanced light cruiser[2] in Starfleet service in the 2400s decade. (PIC episode: "Farewell")

Service history and disposition[]

Namesake[]

The story of Gilgamesh and Enkidu was an ancient myth told by Humans on Earth. In 2368, Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the USS Enterprise used the Gilgamesh epos to establish a means of communication with Captain Dathon of the Tama, thus establishing the first successful relations between the Federation and the Tamarians. (TNG episode: "Darmok")

Active service[]

USS Enkidu

The USS Enkidu in 2401.

In the year 2401, the USS Stargazer investigated a spatial anomaly discovered by the USS Avalon. When a massive Borg ship, the Singularity, emerged from the anomaly, Admiral Picard called for Starfleet reinforcements. The USS Gilgamesh was one of the ships that formed the fleet. (PIC episode: "The Star Gazer")

Following a time travel incident instigated by Q, Borg Queen Agnes Jurati entered an alliance with Picard's armada, which was joined by the Enkidu. The Borg assumed computer control of the combined fleet and moved the ships into position to absorb an energy shockwave emanating from a newly-formed transwarp conduit. All ships remained protected by their deflector shields and concluded the mission unharmed. (PIC episode: "Farewell")
