Ensign Karavitus was a female Human Starfleet command division lower decker who lived during the late 24th century.

In 2380, Karavitus served aboard the USS Cerritos under Captain Carol Freeman, and was assigned to the delta shift. She and Asif were confronted by Ensigns Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler and Fletcher regarding the theft of an isolinear core. (LD: "Terminal Provocations")

In 2381, she was near her bunk, when Captain Freeman announced to the crew that all hands were to report to their commanding officers to assist in removing the deck plates from the Cerritos in order to save the USS Archimedes. (LD: "First First Contact")

Later that year, she joined Asif and Moxy with their plot to rig the algorithm for the room lottery to get better quarters on Deck 4. (LD: "Room for Growth")

Later still that year, Karavitus, Asif, and Amadou took part in an away mission on Glish led by Lieutenant jg Mariner, of beta shift.

En route, Mariner was forced to crash land their shuttlecraft into a cave when it was hit by a magnetic anomaly. The cave contained deposits of pergium which was needed to restore the shuttle's power. Unfortunately, to get to the pergium, they needed to negotiate the biotemporal flux from a mineral vein that emitted chronitons which hastened the aging process.

While Karavitus and Becket both attempted to reach the pergium mine, Karavitus revealed that the reason Delta shift resented Beta shift so much was because Delta shift was always asleep when important things happened, so they barely came in contact wtih the senior officers and rarely got promoted – that and they were forced to fix the messes that Beta shift made when they were on duty. In the process, Karavitus and Mariner aired out their differences and bonded. Ultimately, Amadou found another source of pergium and the group was able to fix the shuttle. (LD: "Caves")
