Fleet Admiral Javas was a female Human Starfleet flag officer who lived during the mid-23rd century. In 2259, she held the position of Judge Advocate General.
That same year, Javas took a personal interest in the court martial of Illyrian Lieutenant Commander Una Chin-Riley. She chaired the tribunal, which also included Starfleet Commander Chiv and Space Command Representative Zus Tlaggul, that weighed the charges against Chin-Riley, who was accused of sedition and violating Starfleet regulations against genetic engineering.
Javas and the panel of judges ultimately absolved Chin-Riley of the charges, based on the defense's argument that she sought asylum from anti-augment persecution. (SNW: "Ad Astra per Aspera")

Javas' rank is assumed based on her epaulets. In dialogue, she is referred to as "admiral," the correct way to address all officers with a rank of rear admiral or above.
