Today at the Tel-Hai College #FoodTech #Conference, we had the joy of connecting with our exceptional partners and sharing our collaborative spirit to rebuild a thriving ecosystem in the north. Key takeaways from the event: ✔️ Residents of the north, who are the employees of any future startups, have to return home before we can discuss anything else! ✔️ Ensuring the reconstruction and ongoing establishment of infrastructure in the north is crucial for startups and groundbreaking research to continue developing. ✔️ Significant funding prioritizing the region is essential to make all of this happen. Despite these challenges, we have the most important element: determination and a strong regional partnership. In these challenging times, it's crucial to keep building and creating our future with hope, strength, and determination, knowing that we deserve it and that better days are ahead. I'm excited to share that this Thursday, the 11th annual conference of Tel-Hai College (soon to be University) led by the dedicated Ofir Benjamin Ph.D. I'm honored to lead the "Industry FoodTech" session at the conference and would love for you to join us. For those who know me, you know that before the war, I spent 4 years living and working in the north. Together with Noga Sela Shalev, our incredible team (Hadas Sibony Benyamini, Sapir Hashmonai, and Daniel Gamsu), and our partners Tnuva Tempo Beverages Ltd, OurCrowd, Finistere Ventures, and the Israel Innovation Authority רשות החדשנות, we established FRESH START FoodTech Incubator IL. Our vision was to establish startup companies in the field of foodtech to bring breakthrough technologies to the global industry and develop the northern region by providing attractive workplaces and attracting strong populations. We also worked in collaboration with the local partners in the Israel AgriFood-Tech Valley: MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, Tel-Hai College, the Municipality of Kiryat Shmona, Galilee Development Company LTD החברה לפיתוח הגליל, Eastern galilee regional council, galil-elion regional council, Lauder Employment Center, Beyachad Foundation, Golan economic corporation, Mevoot hahermon regional council, ASHI FOUNDATION, Merieux NutriSciences Israel מעבדות מילודע On October 7th, Fresh Start had 10 portfolio companies, employing around 90 people, mostly from the north. Today, nine months later, the area is desolate. We were evacuated, and the companies were displaced. However, we remain resilient. We now have twelve (soon to be thirteen) portfolio companies, operating across the country despite the challenges, and most important; Our companies continues to move on and make significant progress. We haven't given up on our vision. We're eagerly waiting for the opportunity to return and rebuild. Your support and participation in the Tel Hai College conference mean a lot to us.
