Nomura recently celebrated its 60th Anniversary in London at the historic Victoria and Albert Museum. Kentaro Okuda, President and Group CEO, hosted the special evening event, welcoming our guests of honour The Lord Mayor of London, His Excellency Hajime Hayashi, The Ambassador of Japan, and Her Excellency Julia Longbottom, the British Ambassador to Japan. We had the pleasure of bringing together clients from across Global Markets, Investment Banking, Nomura Asset Management, Laser Digital and Instinet Incorporated to celebrate their trusted relationships with Nomura over the past six decades. Established nearly a century ago in Japan, Nomura opened its first London office with two people in 1964 seeking growth in dynamic overseas markets. Today, Nomura has more than 2500 employees working from offices in the heart of the city. Thank you to our clients without whom we wouldn’t have made it to 60 years in London. As part of Nomura’s support of Pride Month, over 100 colleagues recently joined a screening of the documentary film “Okinawa Coming Out Story,” exploring the different emotions of coming out to family members and friends. This was followed by a discussion with the movie’s director, Hiroaki Matsuoka, where we covered topics such as the emotions behind the film and the importance of Allies for LGBTQ+ members of the community. Nomura remains committed to creating a work culture where diverse values are respected and people can be themselves.

Nomura welcomed its 2024 Americas Summer Intern Class last month. Our 193 Summer Analysts and Associates participated in a week-long training program before they started on desk. Our Interns have already made an impact on our Investment Banking, Global Markets, Asset Management, Corporate Functions, and Technology Divisions at our New York and San Francisco offices.
