Every monumental event starts as a small spark – an idea, a concept, a test – and grows step by step. We are now embarking on our most important milestone yet: the first flight of #Ariane6. 🚀 Sylvie, Célia, Elisa and Léa-Marie, three #MotionDesign students from e-artsup, l’école de la passion créative, transformed this concept into art for our launch trailer. A big thank you to this talented team for creating a film that not only celebrates the journey but also beautifully illustrates the craftsmanship behind Ariane 6 through its handmade style. It’s only a few days until our launcher’s first launch attempt – and one more trailer to countdown. Stay tuned and see you soon! 🚀 #SpaceEnablers #FirstFlight #SpaceIndustry

What happens when space transportation meets the boundless imagination of young artists? Magic! 🤩 In collaboration between #ArianeGroup and e-artsup, l’école de la passion créative, students from the 5th year classes of the Grande Ecole - Motion Design in Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, and Nantes have crafted creative and visually stunning trailers. These trailers, each 30 to 40 seconds long, are designed to announce the inaugural launch of #Ariane6, uniquely highlighting different aspects of the launcher and space transportation. e-artsup is shaping talents in Artistic Direction, Animation Cinema, and Video Games from ten cities across France. This year, their pedagogical team embarked nearly 100 students on this timely project, allowing students to showcase their skills on a grand stage – the social networks of ArianeGroup. We love the creative sparks that have further ignited the excitement for the upcoming launch. Of course, we will share the videos with you! Stay tuned for the trailers, leading up to the first launch of Ariane 6. 🚀 #SpaceEnablers #FirstFlight #SpaceIndustry

“Parity is a major focus at ArianeGroup. We are actively working to increase female representation at all levels, from technical roles to engineering positions,” emphasised Cornelia THIEME, Chief Human Resources Officer at ArianeGroup, at yesterday’s Assises de la Parité. This year’s event, organised by the International Women’s Forum France under the theme “Corporate Social Responsibility and Parity”, featured a blend of physical and digital participation that included numerous decision-makers from a broad range of sectors. Cornelia co-hosted a round table on “Corporate Social Responsibility in Light of New Generations’ New Relationship with Work,” where discussions were enriched with concrete data and studies on the reality of parity. #ArianeGroup is advancing gender parity goals by establishing a network of ambassadors from kindergartens to universities to inspire young girls and women to pursue STEM careers and #ChoosePassion. Cornelia highlighted the necessity of both female role models and men’s engagement in achieving a mindset shift, to truly advance gender parity. “It’s vital to foster this growth both within our organisation and in the broader community,” she said. The event also explored critical topics such as AI’s impact on business and combining parenthood and the workplace, highlighting the importance of corporate social responsibility amid shifting generational expectations. At ArianeGroup, we believe in the power of community and collaboration to drive real change, making the #SpaceIndustry inclusive for everyone. #WomenInSTEM #AssisesDeLaParité #GenderParity #SpaceEnbablers #WorkInSpace

Hot news! The throttleable engine developed by ArianeGroup for the future European lunar lander #Argonaut has successfully completed its initial hot-fire test campaign. 🔥🌔 In the tests at the DLR-Institut für Raumfahrtantriebe a pre-development model of the engine operating with the proven storable liquid propellants MMH/MON functioned for 1,450 seconds, covering a thrust range of 2.7kN to 5.9kN. The test series was completed on schedule at the end of 2023. After very thorough analysis of all test data, the successful results have now been formally confirmed by the Test Review Board under the lead of European Space Agency - ESA. Navigating a lunar landing is no mean feat. One aspect is that the vehicle gets increasingly lighter as its fuel is used up, and this means that its engine must decelerate the descent so that touchdown speed is zero. Precise control involving rapid throttling of the engine in the final phase before landing is therefore vital. Our new SPE-T (“T” for throttleable) engine is part of #ArianeGroup’s family of Space Propulsion Engines (SPE) based on the company’s BERTA (bi-ergol rocket propulsion) technology. The SPE-T engine features special throttle valves developed and built at our Lampoldshausen site. In addition, an innovative Main Engine Controller (MEC) with newly developed software continuously regulates the pressure within the thrust chamber and the propellant mixture ratio. The successful tests are a great testimony of the pioneering work of our cross-site teams in Ottobrunn, Lampoldshausen and Bremen. #WorkInSpace #SpaceIndustry #Artemis #MoonLanding #Innovation #Argonaut

On International Women in Engineering Day, we celebrated the female trailblazers in the #SpaceIndustry who inspire change and break barriers. 🚀 Meet Katharina and Cindy, two #SpaceEnablers who embody passion and excellence in engineering at our Franco–German company. Katharina is our RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety) team leader in Bremen, Germany. She has successfully established a growing team, demonstrating exceptional leadership and technical expertise, and believes in overcoming stereotypes: “When I started, I sometimes felt doubted by older colleagues. My advice? Simply ignore these prejudices and continue to excel. Fortunately, I see this changing for the better. We are on the right track.” Cindy, from our site in Vernon, France, is a leading expert in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling, crucial for advancing ArianeGroup’s cryogenic tank management. For her, being an engineer means facing new technological challenges. “We are lucky enough to learn new things every day and continue to develop our skills and competencies throughout our careers.” Managing work and family is a challenge as well. But: “Don’t shy away from becoming an engineer or an expert. Take advantage of opportunities such as teleworking, a good network and trust in your ability to organise.” Engineering is for everyone. At #ArianeGroup, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse voices are valued. We continue to support more women joining this exciting field. #ChoosePassion #INWED24 #WomenInSTEM #WorkInSpace

#Ariane6 has successfully completed the wet dress rehearsal before its inaugural launch! ✅ On 20 June, the Ariane 6 flight model-1 was fuelled on the launchpad and subsequently drained of fuel in preparation for launch. The wet dress rehearsal included a full countdown to launch stopping as planned just a few seconds before a lift-off. This allows teams to improve and fine tune the launch system using the actual flight hardware and software in view of the inaugural flight. In parallel the chronology was accompanied by a rehearsal of the launch range that was configured for the inaugural flight of Ariane 6. The data gathered from the wet dress rehearsal will take at least a week to analyse in full and results will be communicated in the next task force update. Together with European Space Agency - ESA, Centre National d'Études Spatiales and ARIANESPACE, we are eagerly looking forward to the first target launch date of 9 July. Stay tuned for more updates! 🚀 #FirstFlight #SpaceEnablers #WorkInSpace #SpaceIndustry
