On International Women in Engineering Day, we celebrated the female trailblazers in the #SpaceIndustry who inspire change and break barriers. 🚀 Meet Katharina and Cindy, two #SpaceEnablers who embody passion and excellence in engineering at our Franco–German company. Katharina is our RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety) team leader in Bremen, Germany. She has successfully established a growing team, demonstrating exceptional leadership and technical expertise, and believes in overcoming stereotypes: “When I started, I sometimes felt doubted by older colleagues. My advice? Simply ignore these prejudices and continue to excel. Fortunately, I see this changing for the better. We are on the right track.” Cindy, from our site in Vernon, France, is a leading expert in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modelling, crucial for advancing ArianeGroup’s cryogenic tank management. For her, being an engineer means facing new technological challenges. “We are lucky enough to learn new things every day and continue to develop our skills and competencies throughout our careers.” Managing work and family is a challenge as well. But: “Don’t shy away from becoming an engineer or an expert. Take advantage of opportunities such as teleworking, a good network and trust in your ability to organise.” Engineering is for everyone. At #ArianeGroup, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse voices are valued. We continue to support more women joining this exciting field. #ChoosePassion #INWED24 #WomenInSTEM #WorkInSpace

Let's talk about a crucial aspect of successful engineering projects: Communication! In any project, effective communication is the glue that holds everything together. It ensures that ideas are shared, problems are addressed, and goals are met. Engineers can't just speak the language of numbers and diagrams - but they also must be able to communicate clearly with team members, stakeholders, and clients. We have success at Tresca by fostering open and transparent communication, which bridges gaps, prevents misunderstandings, and drives innovation. It's our key to turning engineering concepts into reality! After all, we have all been in or around a project where miscommunication leads to heartache... (See: NASA MCO Probe)
