Questions tagged [slew-rate]

Anything related to slew rate (SR in datasheets), i.e. a characteristic parameter of analog amplifier circuits (notably operational amplifiers). The slew rate of an amplifier is the maximum rate of variation that the input signal can exhibit in order for the output amplified signal to follow it without distortion.

Unreasonably low slew-rate of a DAC0800 and TL072-based waveform generator

I'm building a simple waveform generator based on the Raspberry Pi Pico, a DAC0800 IC and a TL072 op amp. The circuit works, but the slew-rate is - I believe - unreasonably low for the components I'm ...

Generate a fast, high amplitude pulse for measuring slew rate

I need to create a test set-up that measures slew rate of a few op-amps. The fastest slew rate among all of the op-amps in my list, belongs to NE5532 with 9 V/us slew rate and output amplitude of ±10 ...

Slew rate and Bandwidth for 5 MHz signal

I'm trying to amplify a sine wave signal with opamps of high bandwidth and slew rate. It works fine up to about 700 kHz, then the gain decreases and about 1 MHz it's only 1, when it should be about 5. ...

Audio signal likely spectral distribution (What op-amp slew rate for audio - in practice?)

If I'm processing an audio signal (assumed 20 Hz - 20 kHz) in an op-amp circuit and I need to select the slew rate, the simple and obvious, yet conservative answer is \$SR \geq 2\pi f V_{\text{peak}}\$...

Current slew rate specification of op-amps?

I know that slew rate specifies how fast the output voltage of an op-amp can change. But is there a measure that specifies how fast the output current of op-amps can change? I need this information ...

Are these low frequency FFT components due to insufficient op-amp slew rates?

In my circuit I have three op-amps in (direct) series connection: AD8422 acting as an input buffer (a large input impedance is needed) with a fixed gain (slew rate: 0.8 V/us) LTC6910 being used as a ...

Measuring Slew Rate of an op-amp

I am trying to measure Slew Rate of the BA4580Rxxx op-amp. I want to apply a pulse using Max038 waveform generator IC to the input of the op-amp. Then, read the output of the op-amp with an ADC. While ...

Why is step response of an opamp linear/exponential?

My step response for LM741 at LTSpice was this: And for TL081: So as you can see the response of LM741 is linear and of TL081 is exponential, but why? My schematic is an inverting amplifier with v=...

How to achieve very slow slew rates in n-channel mosfets? [closed]

I am designing a DC load with 20 parallel power MOSFETs. Each to carry 3 A at most. So, the power dissipation will not be a problem. I am trying to achieve as slow as 1 mA/µs current slew rate and ...
