✔ PROJECT-COMPLETION Our project "Chengdu China Merchants Bank (CMB) Backstage Service Centre Phase II", which is located in the southern part of the high-tech zone in Chengdu, has been completed and put into operation! Our HPP China team won the competition for the new building back in 2018. 🏗 City Ecosystems The building complex extends across the site with a podium storey, with striking high points forming urban accents. At the centre of the project is the central plaza planned by the LDI, to which the building complex opens up. Together with lushly designed roof gardens, users will find a green oasis in the centre of the office complex with variously designed rest and recreation zones. The two entrance buildings with their three-storey atriums are connected via two main skybridges that cross the central plaza. 💚 We are delighted, together with all those involved in the project, that the office complex for which we were commissioned with the architecture and interior design has now come to life and complements the high-tech zone in Chengdu! 💭 VISIONARY, ENGAGED, NETWORKED - THINKING CITIES FORWARD Today, the Rheinische Post once again published a special edition on the Rheinische Post Forum "Zeitenwende für die Innenstadt"! City centres are facing enormous challenges and climate change in particular requires adjustments. Due to changes in society, the world of work and consumption, city centres will also have to reinvent themselves in the future. For several years now, urban planners and architects, representatives of the construction and finance industries, politicians, associations and the media have been working together in the Rheinische Post Forum "Zeitenwende für die Innenstadt". We are delighted to be part of this interdisciplinary dialogue and to help develop ideas for the future of the city of Düsseldorf. At this year's Polis Convention project and urban development trade fair, the RP Forum invited experts and readers to build their own visions for the two selected Düsseldorf areas of Hauptbahnhof and Wehrhahn in the physical city model and, with the help of artificial intelligence, to think them through in digital visualisation variants. The RP Forum used an AI tool developed by HPP Architekten GmbH for the Polis project. The results of the Polis project and conclusions have now been discussed by the forum participants in an evaluation round. At the same time, it was decided to continue the dialogue. ✔ ARCHITECTURE TOUR The Day of Architecture is taking place in Hamburg next weekend and our project "Quartierseingang Vogelkamp" is one of around 40 projects that can be visited. On Saturday (29 June) there will be three guided tours of the Vogelkamp neighbourhood entrance. ✔ PROJECT-MILESTONE Ground-breaking ceremony for office and laboratory building #42 Infineon Warstein Together with our client STONE 59 LUX S.À.R.L., represented by GARBE Immobilien Projekte GmbH, and other project participants, we celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new office and laboratory building #42 on the Warstein campus yesterday. A new building with a gross floor area of around 12,400 square metres will be constructed for Infineon Technologies AG by 2026. Partial planning permission has already been granted. 🏗 Urban Transitions The striking, polygonal new building complements the existing campus in the Belecke district of Warstein. A main corridor connects the new six-storey building with an existing laboratory and office building. In addition to the foyer and showroom on the ground floor, catering facilities on the first two upper floors and flexible office space from the third floor upwards, a surrounding roof garden provides quiet zones for employees. 🏢 Façade symbolises Infineon's values Infineon Technologies AG stands for technical innovation, sustainability and energy generation. All these aspects are emphasised by the façade design of the new building: The timber hybrid construction of the load-bearing structure, the deliberately visible integration of the photovoltaic elements and the technical roof made of photovoltaic modules, which appears to float from a distance. The façade opens to the north, offering views of the natural surroundings of the campus. 💚 With many thanks to our client and all those involved in the project, with whom we will bring the project to a successful conclusion in the coming months. 🧿 EXHIBITION "380 - 780 mm. Colour in architecture and the city". The exhibition, organized by the Museum of Baukultur NRW, is all about the use of colour in our living environmnts. We experience rooms through colours. Colours create a feeling of well-being or aversion. Colours are a central element of our building culture. 💬 We have enriched the exhibition with a statement from our interior designer, Maria Josephine Jaspers, who works at HPP as a product and materials consultant and is also responsible for the extensive collection in our materials library: "Ecological materials made from renewable raw materials, installed with their visible surface and not further processed as composite materials, are immediately recognisable in their authentic materiality with natural elegance or aesthetics. They attract our attention with their texture and feel. Thanks to their naturalness, they affect our well-being, are contemporary and sustainable". 💚 We would like to thank Baukultur NRW for giving us the opportunity to take part in the exhibition. ⚽ Veltins-Arena Gelsenkirchen: venue for the 2024 European Football Championship The European Football Championship 2024 starts on Friday - among other things, group matches and a quarter-final will also take place in the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen. Did you know that the stadium, originally named “Auf Schalke”, was planned and realized by us back in 2001? 🏗 Multifunctional with sliding roof and retractable playing field The arena was designed in 1996 with multi-functionality in mind. The 225-metre long, 187-metre wide and 53.5-metre high building can be used as a venue for trade fairs, exhibitions, concerts and other major events, in addition to its primary use as a 60,000-seat football stadium. The stadium roof can be closed within 30 minutes and the entire 118 x 79 metre football pitch can be moved out of the arena under the south stand within six hours at the touch of a button. A secondary floor allows for non-sporting events. ⚽🏃♂️ Are we in for another summer football fairytale?
