✔ ARCHITECTURE TOUR The Day of Architecture is taking place in Hamburg next weekend and our project "Quartierseingang Vogelkamp" is one of around 40 projects that can be visited. On Saturday (29 June) there will be three guided tours of the Vogelkamp neighbourhood entrance. Further information: https://lnkd.in/e4e5z9Wi 🏗 Urban Transitions With a composition of a spacious square, a central reception building and two flanking residential buildings that create a gateway situation, an identity-forming neighbourhood entrance for the growing district was created directly at the Neugraben S-Bahn station. In 2016, our design proposal with arbos Freiraumplanung won the competition organised by IBA Hamburg GmbH. 💚 We would like to thank the Hamburg Chamber of Architects for the opportunity to present our project to a wide audience and look forward to the tours next Saturday. #HPPArchitekten #RethinkingArchitecture #CoCreative #CollaborativeNetwork #CommonVision #TogetherCourageous #UrbanTransitions #ArchitectureTour #TagDerArchitektur #Hamburg HPP Architekten GmbH Hamburgische Architektenkammer arbos landscape IBA Hamburg GmbH

Sustainable architecture is a complex, multi-layered task. Architects need to consider materials, design, performance, as well as maintenance. Being eco-friendly and having a sustainable approach to architecture should be at the forefront of every architect and designer's mind. There are some great projects that provide inspiration and help lead change. 👇 ✅ Saltviga House by Kolman Boye Architects - Set on a wooded plot overlooking the sea, the family home was designed with 'gentleness' in mind. What underlines this approach and sets Saltviga House apart is the use of offcuts from the production of Dinesen oak planks. ✅ Stream Building by PCA-Stream - opened on 31 May 2023 in Paris, bringing with it a vision of 21st century urban design. It is a multifunctional structure based on sustainable architectural principles, accommodating office and commercial functions. What do you think of the projects presented? 🤔 #architecture #buildings #sustainability

DID YOU KNOW? There is a large abandoned subway system beneath the streets of Cincinnati. Proposed in the 1910s, the project was interrupted by World War I and abandoned later. Many people don't realize that Cincinnati has a subway. The main reason is that the subway has never been in operation. The subway tunnel under the streets has been silent and abandoned for over 50 years. A new concept skyscraper is designed to tackle each of these issues. The Elastic Woodscraper II promises sustainability, efficiency and social cohesion. Designed by Weingartner Architects, the Elastic Woodscraper II combines a busy mix of ideals into one building. Most notably, 70 percent of the proposed structure is made of wood. As Gizmag has previously noted, this can vastly reduce the impact of construction on the environment.

How do you imagine the cities of the future?💡 Cities of the future will be socially connected hubs, supporting classy and timeless architecture and sustainability. Passive systems such as Lumon's balcony glazing enhance self-sufficiency of buildings and cityscapes. The awarded Ørsted Gardens is a perfect example of this. Once called the ugliest building in Denmark, the building now boasts modern design and functionality. "No one has come up with such a completely correct proposal for a renovation that manages both the climatic, acoustic and thermal aspects, but at the same time also wraps it in a form that supports the social cohesion of the building," notes Christopher Carlsen, Architect at Tegnestuen LOKAL about the project. Positioned gracefully above a serene man-made lake, the modern tropical pavilion emerges as a defining landmark, encapsulating the very essence of place. Its unique tall roof form, inspired by traditional Filipino architecture, not only serves functional purposes but also becomes a visual anchor, drawing the eye and evoking a sense of belonging. This architectural feature, while contemporary in its execution, resonates deeply with the cultural tapestry of the region. In the vast landscape of eco-tourism, where establishing a distinct brand identity is paramount, this pavilion stands as a beacon.
