Good news from Costa Rica! #DEKRA has performed 898,000 vehicle inspections at 16 inspection stations there in the first half of the year! Congratulations to the entire DEKRA Team Costa Rica, what a great achievement! 💪   DEKRA has been commissioned by the government to carry out the national vehicle inspection program since 2022. Since then, a total of around 2.4 million vehicle inspections have been carried out in Costa Rica. Thus, DEKRA has demonstrated once again its global market leader position with 31.6 million tests, ensuring safety and trust everywhere in the world.   Sergio Nogueira, Latin America Regional Manager Vehicle Inspection, gave an interview about our successful operation in Costa Rica to the Spanish-language news channel Matices. A 2020 study by the European Commission revealed that over half of environmental claims are vague or misleading, leading to greenwashing. With the new Green Claims Directive, the EU now aims to address these business practices, marking a significant step toward consumer protection. However, this initiative will introduce new regulations for companies to navigate. To reliably demonstrate that their products are sustainable, companies must gather data from many different sources. 🏁 Gearing Up for Silverstone! We had a chat with Bernd Mayländer and reflected on the unexpected finish at the Austrian Grand Prix last weekend. Now, all eyes are on the historic Silverstone British Grand Prix, the oldest Formula 1 race dating back to 1950. With over 480,000 spectators last year, it was the second-best attended F1 race of all time. This year they want to top that making the excitement even higher! Silverstone's high-speed, 5.8-kilometer track holds many memories for Bernd, including a very spectacular Safety Car deployment when a person was on the track in the middle of the race. Reliable data on EV batteries is now within reach! The European Commission’s new battery regulation, effective since February 2024, is a game-changer for the automotive industry. What’s also new? From 18 February 2027, all new EV and two-wheeler batteries must have a digital battery passport. This will track their entire lifecycle, from resource extraction to recycling, ensuring environmental and ethical standards are met. This pilot project will pave the way for more digital product passports, ensuring data exchange and compliance with environmental and social standards.
