How come my coloured material appears different when situated inside my glass/transparent material. is there a work around so that the colour displays correctly inside the glass?

Maybe it will help if you set the Refraction BSDF and Glossy BSDF to pure white instead of light grey. And is there a reason why you have to setup the glass material like this? $\endgroup$ Commented Jul 13, 2021 at 9:48

The old standby cheat for the cycles glass shader may give you the results you want.

I have an answer on some glass interactions here.
