In this and this tutorials, they tell how to completely uninstall Chrome, and that you'll lose all data

My question is that if I already enabled sync-ing, will I be able to get data back from sync after uninstall/install?

PS: my Chrome is crashing, so I'm trying to reinstall it.

"PS: my Chrome is crashing, so I'm trying to reinstall it." Have you tried disabling addons? Or a factory reset of Chrome? Commented Oct 1, 2020 at 11:22

The great thing about Chrome is that after you have connected it to your google account, you can restore all of your history, bookmarks, and data by logging in again to a new computer or installation of Chrome. However, I was not able to find any sources that would confirm if saved cookies and cache would also be restored, but those are usually unimportant.

For a guide on how to connect Chrome to your google account, follow this guide.

  • Note that even if you've connected it to your Google account, you will lose all extension data when reinstalling Chrome, unless the extension syncs your data to your account, which many don't. You may be able to manually restore this data by copying files from your profile path, but I haven't tried this.

This all depends on how you have your browser settings.

If you have your settings set to delete your data (cookies, cache, browsing history, ect) each time you close your browser then you might have some portions of information saved but you will need to login again each time you open your browser.

OR you can set it to auto delete &/OR remind you to delete your data at a specified date and time. (EXAMPLE: Every 6 months, not during work hours. OR: Every 4 WEEKS/1 Month) You can ultimately decide WHEN & HOW MUCH of your data will get deleted each time or have it remind you that YOU need to go through and decide what to delete or keep. Less automation, More CONTROL & LESS of a feeling someone is going through your data and selling off information. If thats a concern for you.

  1. On your device, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More. Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security.
  4. Select the ad feature you'd like to turn on or off.
