Internet

"The Performance plan (50mbps download speed) seems to be more than adequate for our needs. But, $74.95 a month is a bit expensive."

That is expensive considering a new customer gets 60 mbps down for $39.99/month w/o the gateway rental.

Re: Internet

I guess mine is 60mbps too (not 50).

The key is "new customer". They don't give those deals to existing customers. I might be able to call and get $20/mo off for a year. I used to do that every year, but that process gets old. It hasn't been that long since I dropped the voice portion and went to internet-only; I need to let the dust settle from that change before I call and ask for a discount.

Re: Internet

Understandable, i'm guessing Comcast is your only internet option? I have Comcast and Verizon Fios, so if one does not want to give me a deal for staying i switch almost every 2 years. Like i'm about to do in March, Verizon wants me to pay $75 for 150/150 or $20 more for gigabit while new customers get gigabit for $79. Going to Comcast for 400 Mbps for $79 for a month or two then going back to Verizon. Love the reliability of Verizon fios. Never goes out compared to when we have had Comcast.
