Barre Repeats as Academic All-America

Graduate student Liz Barre of the Carnegie Mellon University women's track and field team has been selected to the 2024 Academic All-America® women's cross country and track and field team as selected by the College Sports Communicators for NCAA Division III. Barre landed a spot on first team as it marks her second straight season being named an Academic All-America after being named to the second team a season ago.

Fourteen Carnegie Mellon University student-athletes from the cross country, track and field, and golf teams were named to a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team for Division III, nominated by members of CSC. College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) rebranded to CSC in the summer of 2022.

The Carnegie Mellon University men’s and women’s track and field teams had 26 Mid-Atlantic All-Region honors awarded to its athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the 2024 outdoor track and field season. Seventeen represent the men while nine represent the women with two men receiving multiple honors and one woman.

Graduate student Liz Barre competed in the heptathlon at the North Central College Cardinal Combine on Monday and Tuesday.
