King Khong MMA

This is a gym I love to come to at least 2-3 times a week. Coach Bao (owner) created a family oriented environment where we can come and sweat our tails off. King Kong MMA pushes you physically and mentally every time you step foot in the door. Learning self defense is a vital skill to own. It keeps you in shape but not only that, you stand a better chance protecting you and your loved ones. I've tried other MMA gyms in the area but they don't compare to king Khong. The instructors are 100% attentive & they even train you to fight competitively!

I was asking for info, for adults getting back into the gym and taking a different approach to lose weight and challenging the mind. What's their availability leading up to Summer and was better to join after Summer. The person I talked with had a good rapport and easy to understand.

In my 40s, I've tested out a variety of boxing, kickboxing, and martial art gyms in the area. So glad I found King Khong MMA and joined their Muay Thai classes. It was a complete life changer in the best way. The gym is by far the most welcoming and best instruction I've ever experienced.

Ahhhh so many good things to say about this spot, where would I even begin? Let's start with Master Bao, a genuine, amazing, talented, and overall star of a human being. His teaching method is so easy to understand and you can definitely tell he cares. He's so ethical and fair and genuinely wants the best for everyone. Not enough words could encompass how stellar he is as a person and as an instructor. Secondly the students?! Wow. Everyone is so welcoming and sweet. It's like a legit mini family once you step in. Three the place maintains its cleanliness all the time. I've been to certain MMA gyms that smell like a boys locker room, but never once at this place. They hold cleanliness to a high regard. I definitely recommend this place, you would never regret it and you see results as long as you are consistent!

We love King Khong MMA! Master Bao is so great with kids. He has a wonderful balance of fun, kindness, and discipline with them. Our son not only has strengthened physically as well as mentally, learning MMA moves has also protected him. He accidentally slipped near the pool, and because he learned the safe technique for falling, it kicked in instinctively and saved him from hurting his head. Having had our child do Tae Kwon Do with two other dojos, King Khong is definitely the best!

I stumbled across this school a while back as I was searching for a place to learn Muay Thai and tried out a free class with no experience whatsoever. In one hour, I was beat but it was the most fun and educational workout I have ever done so I decided to continue to take classes.

The main instructor, Bao, is great at demonstrating techniques in the smallest detail and explaining how/why we should move our bodies in certain ways when in a real fight. The classes are small enough so that you can get good feedback from him and ask any questions you may have. He encourages you to push yourself hard but not in a way that will kill your spirit either. Besides the great instructors, the atmosphere is very welcoming and the other students are all friendly and willing to help their peers improve themselves, regardless of their experience level.

After several months of taking classes, I feel like I have come a long way since that first class. I have learned a ton and my punches and kicks are much better. With the conditioning we do as well, I feel stronger and my physical health has greatly improved. I'm not as sore after every class anymore! I truly enjoy the classes at this school and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to learn Muay Thai in a fun and positive environment.

Never formally studying a martial arts before, I researched different schools in the DMV area and took a few trial classes at different locations. I can confidently say that King Khong MMA is an excellent school to learn a variety of martial arts--no matter if you have prior experience, or are starting as a beginner in her late 20s like me. Under Master Bao's guidance and leadership, I look forward to attending class and learning more each time. What makes King Khong MMA different and unique in the best way, in my opinion, is the welcoming and warm environment of coaches and students. I genuinely leave in a much happier mood and am more confident after each class, that feeling hasn't gone away after 6 months! If you're thinking about taking a trial class and seeing for yourself how amazing of a school this is, I promise you won't regret it!

To Start, we have been with KKMMA for nearly 4-years and we look at Master Bao as an uncle in our family. That is how KKMMA makes you feel when you train there. We moved to Ashburn and still fight traffic for over an hour, 4-days a week, to attend class. I have trained in various places throughout my lifetime and we have searched Loudoun high and low. There is not another school that can replace KKMMA for its atmosphere and instruction - and believe me, i wish there was! The drive SUCKS! But seriously, Master Bao and his team are truly gifted and take great care to keep the training environment fun, dynamic, and safe. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

We were referred to King Kong MMA from a good friend and at first I was a little skeptical how well someone could actually teach or even keep my sons attention (4 years old) . We are starting our second month and he has never been so excited to go to any activity like he is with Mr Bao's. Class. The instructor is super patient and is wonderful with our son. I love that he is not only learning martial arts but also to respect others. Highly recommend this school.
