He claimed: "They tried to blackball me and make sure I would never work in this town again, but I will continue to work and make my path."

Antonio, who starred in Melrose Place and General Hospital, was also a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. He dabbled in politics too - and ran for the 26th Congressional seat in California in 2018, and ended up coming second.

Antonio explained that how after his marriage ended, he went from doing Hollywood films to driving construction material over Florida, where he moved with his family.

He revealed: "Nobody was hiring me in the Hollywood world but I needed to make enough money to survive to take care of my family. I pulled up my sleeves, put my ego in check and did what I had to do."

Meanwhile Antonio Sabato Jr has revealed he dated Madonna when the superstar was at the height of her career but said the pair decided to keep their relationship private and hidden from any external people.

The Italian-American actor said he and Madonna dated for a summer in the early 90s while he was living in New York. At the time, he had not started working on General Hospital yet.

Sabato Jr said he and Madonna "clicked" and "spent a lot of time together" but he added their relationship stayed private as he did not want to be like "a toy boy". During the time they spent together, they got to know each other and he learned a lot about the superstar, who was one of the biggest singers in the world at the time.
