We are thrilled that our Legal Director, Gemma Neylon, has been included in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist of the most influential in-house lawyers in Ireland. The GC Powerlist is compiled following a comprehensive research process, conducted over many months with law firm partners and in-house counsel across Ireland.   It identifies the most impressive in-house lawyers in the country, those who have utilised their legal knowledge strategically to provide business insights, contribute to their company’s success and ensure that the legal function is driving the business forward.   Many congratulations to Gemma for this much deserved recognition! Today’s Drinks Ireland - Ibec report confirms that, in line with growth seen across Europe, the non-alcohol beer category continues to thrive in Ireland, which is a trend that Diageo has been seeing for some time, particularly through Guinness 0.0.   Between February 2023 and February 2024, we saw an almost 50% increase in volume sales of Guinness 0.0 on draught, confirming the major growth of non-alcohol beer in recent years, and the specific success of Guinness 0.0 since its introduction to the Irish market almost three years ago. We are meeting this increased demand by sustained investment, including a €25 million production facility for Guinness 0.0 at St James’s Gate in Dublin, last year.   As consumer habits evolve and people seek to moderate their alcohol consumption, they are turning to brands they know and trust to offer non-alcohol alternatives that still deliver the quality and taste they’ve come to expect from brands like Guinness.   We’re excited to see the non-alcohol beer category go from strength to strength and are glad to be playing a part in that, through our continued commitment and substantial investment in our products. #Guinness00 #NonAlcohol #SalesGrowth #ConsumerHabits https://lnkd.in/e2mnB7yu

We have turned the sod on Ireland’s first carbon-neutral brewery at Littleconnell, Newbridge, Co Kildare! After announcing our plans in 2022, we’re glad to have begun construction on our new €200m state-of-the-art brewery, that will brew our lagers and ales including Rockshore, Harp, Hop House 13, Smithwick’s, Kilkenny and Carlsberg, facilitating enhanced capacity for the production of the fast-growing Guinness 0.0 at the traditional home of Guinness at St James’s Gate, Dublin. With a capacity of 2 million hectolitres, it will be the second largest brewing operation in Ireland outside of St James's Gate, and will go on to support the growth of overall beer exports from Ireland. All this would not be possible without our stakeholders throughout the process; Enterprise Ireland, Kildare County Council and Minister of State for Agriculture and TD for Kildare South, Martin Heydon. We look forward to many more future collaborations with our stakeholders, on impactful and exciting projects like this one!   #CarbonNeutral #Guinness #Brewery #Kildare #DiageoIreland

10 years of Learning for Life! At our newly re-opened Open Gate Brewery, we recently celebrated the tenth anniversary of our award-winning Learning for Life hospitality training programme - a global programme that has gone from strength-to-strength since it first launched in Ireland in 2014.      The celebration was attended by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Peter Burke TD, as well as graduates, trainers, and hospitality businesses from around the country.       On the day Minister Burke noted; “Diageo’s Learning for Life programme has played a vital role in supporting people from disadvantaged and diverse communities to gain the necessary skills and learning required to pursue a career in the hospitality sector. The programme has proved to be an overwhelming success, with clear benefits for the participants, hospitality businesses and the wider economy alike”      Here are just some of the key milestones from a decade of Learning for Life:       💡 Over 500 businesses have been involved in the programme to date, by providing employment and training opportunities to learners.      💡 Of the 2,000 graduates that have completed the programme, 50% have been women and 85% have remained in full time employment.     💡 Since 2022, 100 members of the Ukrainian community have participated in the Learning for Life programme through targeted and bespoke training courses.   The success of our Learning for Life programme would not be possible without our programme partners First Western, Springboard, Skillnet Positive Work and the Guinness Storehouse, who help us activate more than 80 training programmes on the island of Ireland.  We're excited to continue this work and to welcome more students over the next decade of dedication to our Learning for Life programme!      #Training #Employment #Hospitality #Partnerships #DiageoIreland #LearningForLife
