A week or two before starting Supered⚡, I decided to write another book. Now I didn't expect to jump into something new so quickly, surely this book would be my focus for a few months? Right? Not quite, but it's finally done! It's been in production for a little bit now, and I received my author copies today! So awesome to have your hard work in a physical form. — Why write a book? Elixir changed how I view programming, and anything I can do to contribute that back to others is worth my time. — What's the process like? For this type of book, it's actually a "simple" process. I created the outline for all of the material I wanted to cover over 10 chapters. For each chapter, I wrote what I wanted to cover in it, and tried to come up with the headings + subheadings for the different sections. Then I write section -> section, trying to get a whole chapter done in 2-4 writing sessions. It is a lot of work of course, but it's actually "simple" in that I'm filling out an outline as I write. If I can go 1 section at a time, I'll eventually get my finished copy. I procrastinated a lot, though!
As someone who's purchased 4 or 5 books on Elixir (only language that I've bought books for), I would love to check this out.
I had looked into Elixir a few times and it never really clicked for me, but I picked this up when it was in Early Access and I am now fully aboard the Elixir train. Great work and congrats!
