I find it interesting (stupid) how WFH was considered a "vital necessity" to keep companies afloat last year... But now that companies want people back in the office – fully remote work is being treated like a recruiting perk or bonus. How are you going to tell your employees they need to "prove" they've "earned" the "privilege" of remote work when they kept your business afloat from their dining room table for 18 months? #TechLeaders #TechRecruiting #WFH
Interesting! I love this...
I agree BUT the job also kept me with a roof over my head and food on the table. Some people weren't as blessed.
From a technical perspective, we've been able and ready to WFH for the last 15+ years. The problem is managers who love to lord over their staff and micro-manage people never wanted to let anyone out of their sight. Anyone who's not in front of them at a desk grinding away is being lazy or somehow 'stealing' time from the employer. That attitude never changed, companies just didn't have a choice in the matter. Now that they feel they do have a choice, they've gone back to their old ways. Any excuse about team building or other thinly veiled attempts to reassert control over employees' daily lives are just that, excuses. You can build teams without being in the same room, it's been proven many times over the last year. If you can't manage a remote team, perhaps the problem isn't the team, but the management.
Love this!

My job couldn't be done remotely....I worked in our office the whole time......either way the loyal employees deserve the credit for running the show during a time when most people sat at home getting paid to do nothing!!!
The employees most effective working from home were experienced and had been with us for at least a year. WFH doesn’t work for new college grads and people new to our culture.
