First natural gas steel pipeline section in Austria rededicated for #hydrogen! 🚀 #TeamBilfinger is proud to be part of a pioneering project: As part of the HyGrid² project, the first Austrian natural gas steel pipeline section is being repurposed for hydrogen transport. The former natural gas pipeline is being operated with pure hydrogen under real conditions in order to gain practical insights. Over the past few months, our candidates visited the Bilfinger sites in Dortmund, Aberdeen and Puch, where they gained hands-on experience in: 👉 analyzing processes 👉 reducing waste 👉 implementing structured problem solving Their training recently concluded with a presentation of their project results to their managers, sponsors, process owners, Lean Core Team members and other interested parties in senior management positions. In order to make a decisive contribution to achieving our strategic focus on sustainably increasing #efficiency in the future, our new Lean Experts will continue to deepen, expand and share their acquired skills, knowledge and experience within their organization. 💡 Congratulations to all our candidates on successfully completing the training and receiving their Lean Expert certificate! Today, we were honored to welcome the Bavarian State Minister for Science and Art, Markus Blume, MdL, together with his parliamentary colleagues Björn Jungbauer, MdL, and Dr. Andrea Behr, MdL to our Bilfinger site in Würzburg, Germany. In addition to a tour of our workshop, the focus was on the possibilities of #nuclearfusion. The "Bavarian Master Plan" has the ambitious goal of making Bavaria a global center of fusion research and establishing the “Bavarian Fusion Cluster”. We are proud to be able to make an important contribution to this transformative project, with our more than 60 years of experience in the #nuclear industry and our long-standing expertise in manufacturing superconducting magnets used in #fusion reactors. Having worked on the launch of a digital procurement platform 🌐🛒, he is now responsible for creating and monitoring procurement plans for projects in the European pharmaceutical industry. 📈   For Patrick, #sustainability plays an important role in his work🌱and is excited to be able to contribute in this area.
