Revenue and product team alignment has never been more important. I've always had a very strong relationship with the #product team and been very fortunate to work with some amazing product people, one of which was my business partner for many years. Revenue teams and product teams have to be in alignment and working together. There is nothing to sell without a great product and there is no way to get it in the hands of users without a strong #sales team. Too many companies are siloed and disconnected as it relates to revenue and product, but the two should be talking daily, if not multiple times a day about what the customers are saying and what the roadmap looks like, especially early on. Yes, product should talk to customers, but that's not their day job. The sales team, however, is talking to customers all day everyday. There is no better source of information than talking to the sales team to see what customers are saying. Actually, nowadays product can just listen to the calls and fast forward to the word product. It's not hard, but product teams have to be willing. Growth can came from many places, and typically it's sales and marketing carrying the burden, but I would argue there is significant growth opportunities from sales and product alignment so you can quickly solve problems that customers are struggling with.

How many irrelevant hits should a search result have? The answer is greater than zero. Search is a trade off between precision and recall, and we almost all decide to accept some bad results. Why do we do that? Because in most situations, showing many results is better than showing a tiny number, or showing some less relevant results is the price we'll pay to show many relevant ones. I'm always so delighted by folk's reactions to ChatPRD. This breakdown by Aakash Gupta takes a critical eye to whether or not ChatPRD is useful, how it compares to other OOTB solutions, and reiterates that it's writing style is where it really shines. Loving all the comments highlighting some of the common themes we hear from other PMs using the product, good and bad: Pros + writing style + speed + customization options + helping think around corners Questions ? is my data secure ? shouldn't I be... thinking ? how does it know the context ? are PRDs even useful I think many of the doubts are philosophical (and will shift over time!) vs. unsurmountable issues in the product experience. I'm excited to keep building so folks can adapt and adopt more AI tools when building awesome products.

How can product leaders move the needle and take the lead in this shift? Moving Off the Solution – guide your team to step back from the tech stack and view the challenge from the POV of a new user. Measuring Customer Perceived Value -- require PMs to sit with a cohort of users -- typical users. Conduct a discovery exercise. A small sample size is sufficient. Embrace the Change – this should require a complete change in mindset but a different orientation. In 2021, Pinata launched the first productized offering of Dedicated IPFS Gateways. Before that, developers and consumers of IPFS had to use public gateways that were often slow, rate limited, and a bad reflection of what was possible with IPFS. We launched Dedicated Gateways with all of the comforts that developers had come to expect when working on web scale projects–CDN, edge network, stability, and scalability. Developers could add custom domains to their gateway, they could use multiple gateways across various projects, and they could use these gateways to help query the IPFS network for the booming NFT market. It was literally a gamechanger that we saw many others copy over the years. We've continued to experiment and innovate in the space around IPFS Gateways, and today we're excited to announce the next iteration of that innovation. We're launching Gateway Plugins soon! You can read more about Gateway Plugins and sign up on the interest lists linked in the blog post below. But the tl;dr is this: we're giving Gateways superpowers. We've quietly built our own plugins that every Pinata Dedicated Gateway benefits from today: Access Controls and Phishing Moderation. Now, we're opening up the plugin capabilities of Gateways further. Not only will we be launching three plugins of our own, we will be opening up Gateway Plugins to third party developers.
