The Witte Museum — Where Nature, Science and Culture Meet
About us
The Witte Museum is where Nature, Science and Culture meet, through the lens of Texas Deep Time and the themes of Land, Sky, and Water. The Witte is the only museum that focuses on Millions, Thousands and Hundreds of years in what we now call Texas. The Witte inspires people to shape the Future of Texas through transformative and relevant experiences in engaging exhibitions and programs. Founded in 1926, the Witte is located along the San Antonio River and has recently renovated and expanded the entire museum campus.

Did you know they can grow up to 18 feet long and weigh 2,000 pounds? That means, they're one of the largest shark species in the world. Learn more about Tiger Sharks inside the "Sharks" exhibition at the Witte this summer! Plan your visit here: https://bit.ly/3VPxynK #Witte #Sharks #OceanLife #SummerIdeas #SanAntonioMuseum

Others continued working as cowboys for other ranchers or found new jobs using the skills they developed as cowboys. Meet the legendary individuals—including Hector Bazy—in the "Black Cowboys: An American Story" encore exhibition. 🎥: “Hector Bazy In His Own Words” performed by Eugene Lee.
