This month's #FeatureFriday shines the spotlight on Ryan Lidke, LEED AP, Vice President of Development Services. With over 23 years in the construction and real estate industry, Ryan has spent the last 9 years making a significant impact at VanTrust's Columbus office. "Ryan has been an integral part of the VanTrust team. Many of the successful Columbus region’s projects have been delivered under his careful management. He has the great ability to communicate with the project team in a way that gets everyone rowing the same direction, even when faced with difficult challenges. His current leadership of the Columbus Development Services team is simply a continuation of his exceptional ability to organize and communicate with everyone. We are lucky to have him leading the charge.," said Bret Sheffield, CCIM, Executive Vice President, Development Services. "The VanTrust Team has such a great culture with even better people that has allowed myself to continue to grow within the Real Estate industry. I really enjoy the variety of work and the challenges of figuring out a deal from the start to finish that allows everyone to be successful," said Ryan. Originally from Bellevue, OH, Ryan graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management and was a member of the Ohio State basketball team, reaching the Final Four in 1999. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife of 20 years, Lisa, their two children, Wyatt (17) and Gracyn (14), and their dog, Cash (named after Johnny Cash). The family loves staying active with school and travel sports, and they often retreat to their property in Athens, OH for hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventures. Transforming a single-tenant structure into a vibrant, multi-tenant office hub was a visionary and strategic move for The Landings development. We collaborated with VanTrust Real Estate to enhance the building's appeal, integrating modern amenities like a renovated lobby, outdoor gathering spaces, fitness center, and more. This design fosters a campus-like atmosphere that seamlessly connects with adjacent buildings and nearby Summit Park through enhanced walkability. With careful consideration of life safety and building codes, the revamped spaces offer flexibility for diverse tenant needs. The final design of a modern office that’s rich in amenities will assist in marketing the building to future office tenants. We're excited to see how these transformations will continue to drive success for The Landings and its tenants.

For this month's #FeatureFriday, we spotlight Mike Uhrig, Senior Director, Development Services. Mike has been with VanTrust for 2 years, and is based in our Kansas City office. "As a licensed professional engineer, and a seasoned general contractor, Mike brings both design and construction experience to the table on every project. That perspective, along with his collaborative communication style, makes him very effective at leading his project teams to creative and cost-effective solutions. Mike came to VanTrust a few short years ago, and has made a great transition to the owner’s side of the business. We are lucky to have him on the team," said Bret Sheffield, CCIM, Executive Vice President, Development Services. "I love the people at VT. It is the most genuine and giving organization from top to bottom, always doing the right thing for the employees, community, and others," said Mike. Mike is originally from KC, and him and his wife of 29 years, Shannon, have 2 children, Macey and Mason. Their family also includes three adorable dogs: Luka (Aussie), Marley (Long Haired Chihuahua), and Ozzie (Rescue). When he's not in the office, you can find Mike going to concerts and spending time outside on the golf course, hiking, and beach bumming. Thank you, Mike, for all you do for the VanTrust team!

I was honored to have been a panelist at the NAIOP I.CON East conference today, participating in the Midwest Industrial Market Outlook Lunch. It was a great experience to discuss the sustained growth and demand in the Midwest industrial market alongside esteemed CRE leaders from Chicago, Indianapolis, Columbus, and Kansas City.
